Celebrating National Athletic Training Month: Keeping You Active at Any Age
March is National Athletic Training Month, and at Unified Therapy Services, we’re proud to have several Physical Therapists who are also Athletic Trainer Certified (ATC) on our team. While athletic trainers play a vital role in keeping competitive athletes strong, healthy, and injury-free, their expertise extends far beyond the sidelines. Whether you're an athlete, a weekend warrior, or just someone who wants to stay active and pain-free, our team is here to help.
What Does an ATC Do?
An Athletic Trainer (ATC) is a healthcare professional trained in injury prevention, emergency care, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention, and rehabilitation. They work alongside physical therapists, doctors, and coaches to ensure that active individuals—whether they play on a team or simply enjoy movement—stay in peak condition.
Athletic Training for Everyone
Athletic training isn't just for competitive sports. Our ATCs help people of all activity levels, including:
- Adult Recreation Enthusiasts – Whether you love playing pickleball, tennis, or golf, we can help with injury prevention and performance optimization so you can keep doing what you love.
- Runners & Walkers – Experiencing shin splints, knee pain, or foot discomfort? We provide movement assessments and treatment to help you stay on track.
- Yardwork & Home Improvement Warriors – If back pain, shoulder stiffness, or joint discomfort is slowing you down when gardening or tackling DIY projects, our team can help you regain strength and flexibility.
- Weekend Warriors & Fitness Fans – Whether you're getting back into the gym, hiking, or trying a new workout routine, we offer guidance to prevent overuse injuries and enhance performance.
How Can Our ATCs Help You?
If you or someone you know is dealing with an injury or simply wants to move and feel better, our ATC-certified specialists can help. We offer:
- Injury prevention strategies to avoid common strains, sprains, and overuse injuries.
- Rehabilitation and recovery plans for a safe and effective return to activity.
- Performance training to improve movement mechanics, reduce pain, and increase strength—whether you’re hitting the gym or the pickleball court.
- Personalized care plans tailored to your unique needs, ensuring you stay active for the long run.
Our team combines the best of athletic training and physical therapy to create a well-rounded approach to injury recovery, movement optimization, and long-term wellness.
