COVID-19 Exposure Guidelines

COVID-19 Exposure Guidelines

If a patient presents with COVID-19 symptoms please contact our Patient Care Coordinators at (563) 583-4003 soon as possible. We require patients to follow the CDC guidelines by quarantining for at least 10 days from onset of symptoms or exposure date (if known). If able and willing, please be tested.

If patient is tested and the result is positive:

  • We require patient to quarantine for a minimum of 10 days since exposure, if known, onset of symptoms or positive test AND 24 hours fever free without medication and improved symptoms.
  • Telehealth is still available during quarantine if patient is feeling healthy enough to participate.

If patient is tested and the result is negative:
  • If there is no alternate diagnosis the patient can return to clinic after 24 hours of being fever free without medication and improved symptoms.
  • If there is an alternate diagnosis the patient can return to clinic once criteria are met for alternate diagnosis (example: strep throat).
  • Telehealth is still available during quarantine if patient is feeling healthy enough to participate.

If patient is not tested:
  • We require patient to quarantine for a minimum of 10 days since exposure (if known) or onset of symptoms and be 24 hours fever free without medication and improved symptoms before returning to the clinic.
  • Telehealth is still available during quarantine if patient is feeling healthy enough to participate.
